In it’s 8th year now, the River City Arts Festival on Saturday July 20th, is a celebration of all things art in the downtown core area at Shoppers Row. This year will again see artisan vendors in 10×10 booths in the streets, live music in Spirit Square, street performers roaming the festival, kids activities, art activities and demonstrations. The festival layout is similar to last year, starting at Shoppers Row and 10th Avenue, head west to 16th Avenue to 13th Ave. and in a y shape to from 16th Ave. along 11th Ave. to Cedar Street. The festival is run from 10am to 4pm with road closures starting at 5:30am to 7:00pm.
New this year will be a Human Library, a temporary graffitti wall, body art area, and higher profile bands to attract a locals to spend the day. The food truck area will be moved to 11th Ave by the Community Centre to integrate more into the festival. We are planning for 90 vendors in the same footprint as last year.
